Don't believe, but there is the scientific explanation

There are numerous end of the world predictions for the year 2012. Famous psychics, computer programs, and ancient societies have all predicted the end of the world in 2012.

To isomer13:

Well, I haven't seen any recent galactic plane crossing believers or Nibiru believers or any astronomy based "theories" that are simply wrong. Maybe the true believers have gone where they are among other true believers. The best I've seen recently is the Hollow Moon post. Hilarious.

But I will be around though. I took some astronomy and geology courses as electives in college and I have tried to stay reasonably current ever since.
If I see a post here that is within my limited sphere of knowledge and provably wrong I will respond.

:o Cool! You think it would be COOL!!!

lol

I kind of understand this guys point tho! Every few years something comes up that people say is going to destroy mankind and nothing ever happens - it would be kind of intersting to be alive in a true mass extinction event (well.....the start of it) just to see what would actually happen.

I know that seems quite masochistic and I agree it is - but it would be interesting.....just to see it - I mean, how mad would it be to see a massive comet flying accross the night sky and impacting someway in the distance and seeing the fireball.....

I'm actually shaking my head to myself as I am typing it lol........

Perhaps in a clinical way it would. But could you be clinical about it bucky? I don't think I could, no way!

Well, I guess in one respect that would be an awesome sight, yet horrible at the same time!

Yeah, I can't add much there.I will say the reason I enjoy your responses relate directly to this next comment.

That, I think, is what everyone should do with any info or claim they happen across.

After you posted some replies, I checked the info you supplied, and found it to be an accurate representation, either in refutation or clarification of what was said or claimed. After a few times, I came to the conclusion if you took the time to respond and counter something claimed, you didn't want egg on your face. That's good.

No one should ever place 100% confidence in another's take or view. At the same time, after enough verification of what another says, and using your own mind in respect to that, it's nice as I said to think to yourself "lets see what engineerretired has to say about this".
I think a layman can present info concerning many topics that is just as reliable as a PHD's. You don't have to be an expert to apply common sense and use of the mind.
There are a few on this site that I feel can speak with a good measure of confidence(you know who you are). Even a lucid opinion that can be relayed in a understandable way barring any "point by point" statement of fact is welcomed in my own estimation of some of the things posted here.

Hollow Moon?.....A stone cavern where a god keeps "rogue gods and demons"? ...I can't even begin to put to page some of the things offered here as fact.

It certainly saves time when you see outrageous claims that you pretty much know can't be accurate, and another takes the time to explain or offer the reasons why.

If everyone is afraid because of the movie 2012, you could read a bible... in the movie everyone dies in a flood, well God promised that he would never make such a flood again.. if he was going to destroy the Earth it would be through FIRE, not FLOOD. So don't freak out about that stupid movie. :)

Science has no explanation for 2012 they would reject this as laughable or they would lie and lead people to dead ends. 2012 is purely religion and religion has no bases in scientific logic. It is the religion of ancient mayan errors. If it were true then the Mayan people would be still here. God would have held them up for the world to see, but they've been gone for at least 400 years. Lord God judged them as pagan and their religion is gone, Lord God has a plan.

Dear engineer retired if you were to return to hollow theory you would see it is me having the last laugh. As you noticed i posted this in the UFO section to draw you all in and it worked and the 4 musketeers replied. Did you think i implied the moon hollow as in a space ship ? Did i state that? No, i never stated that, i said was it possible the moon was hollow due to volcanic activity causing massive caverns. Read all the post again and there was a systemic test carried out by NASA picking this up. I look forward to your reply.

devil666:

If memory serves, some of the responders to Hollow Moon posted some rather bizarre theories regarding an alien origin of the moon, moon as an alien space ship, etc. To these the musketeers responded with some science. I don't remember that anyone said that YOU thought or said that the moon was a spaceship.

It seems likely that volcanic activity on the moon has caused massive cavities. I guess a lot depends on how one defines massive.

Some of the posts were very amusing. In fact, some were - HILARIOUS!

lol, you make it as if God is very evil. Says one but does the other.

Mistakes can't happen twice, if God was to do it again, what would the people on planet Earth think of God?

What I'm referring to is the Great Flood. Not about others like Sodom and Gomorrah but that's another story.
