Sorry to disappoint you. Though the Mayan calendar does stop right then, however it's not because they thought that's when they thought the world would end. In fact, they believed it would be when humanity would enter a higher level of conciousness. Has this topic already been brought up?

Now this i can understand, they were a very spiritual society. It does sound more credible than "the world will end..." However, again we are just dealing with beliefs. A higher state hey, well maybe we can combine the two beliefs & start a new one. Maybe we will have a totally horrific natual disaster (more horrible than the ones we have experienced in our lifetime ) & then the human race will have to come together to put the world back together again & this will be the higher state of consciousness we will achieve.
No more wars, famine, etc...maybe...

well, i agree. it's a nice thought that the world would be better off after a natural disaster (eg poleshift, nibiru,...)

but i think also that the world after 2012 might be more cruel; a struggle for survival before we reach that higher level of state of mind.

if there would be a peace after 2012 (and i wish it will come), won't that be the perfect excuse for the NWO to chip everyone because of peace. Everyone would be tempted to accept this.

The world will never end. Heaven will be on earth eventually as the bible tells us. 2012 isn't the end but rather a beginning of change. How that change will acure is yet to be revealed but it seems that change will come by way of pain and suffering followed by peace and understanding. Our way of life must end as history teaches us. We can't honestly believe we have reached or full potential as a race. Our course is set even if the path is unclear to us. -God bless-
